The Problem--Exhausted Soil

Fatigued Soil

It's an acute developing world problem.  Multi-years of habitual crops of maze and rice void of reintroducing supplements back into the soil ultimately  results in a malnourished growth medium -- some say "dead soil".

The Solution-- Revitalizing the Soil

Just like us -- plants are what they eat.  Thus we sponsor endeavours that habitually amend and refurbish the land by introducing a variety of organic supplements back into the soil.

The Problem -- Physical MALNUTRITION

A Carbohydrate Diet

The diet of the rural residents in the developing world is heavily weighted in either carbohydrate corn or rice.  The consequence is a compromised immune system that results in habitual bouts of sickness and ultimately premature death.

The Solution -- nutrient Rich Food

Organic Vegetable Gardens

The foundation of a healthy immune system is a diet that is comprised of a heavy intake of vegetables.  We fund initiatives that expand the multiplication of organic vegetables gardens.

    the problem - soil dehydration

    Dead Baked Dry Soil

Deforestation, now coupled with an increase in global warming droughts, has resulted in compacted concrete  like soil that is not amendable to tilling, nor able to absorb rainfall, not to mention support growing vegetables.  The result is soil that is  dead, void of air, insect microbes, earthworms and organic matter.  As such rainfall is not a blessing, but rather it brings the curse of runoff and erosion.

The Solution -- Rain Water Harvesting

    Rain Harvesting

In addition to resourcing major composting amendments to the community's fields, we fund the construction of rain harvesting infrastructure, including channels to both capture rainfall runoff and deliver the water to the:

    • Community gardens
    • Tree soaking pits, and
    •  Holding cisterns.
